From 6th to 9th May 2010 a new festival dedicated to up-and-coming Austrian bands will take place in the center of Vienna. In addition to open-air concerts, showcases and label nights a conference will highlight the current boom of Austrian pop music and its economic frameworks. Aesthetic dimensions, the economic potential and the risks of a rapidly changing industry will be addressed in discussions, workshops and lectures.
Popfest Wien >> Sessions is an initiative of AMAN - Austrian Music Ambassador Network (www.aman.ag), mica - music austria (www.mica.at) and VTMÖ - Association of independent record companies, music publishers and music producers Austria (www.indies.at). It adresses Austrian music business professionals and record labels as well as musicians and an interested audience. Participation is free.
