Spot On Denmark in Vienna

SPOT ON DENMARK is a traveling mini-festival, which lets jurys consisting of journalists and music professionals from all over Europe bring home their Danish highlights from the acclaimed SPOT Festival in Århus, Denmark. Having become a success in cities like Paris, Berlin and Brussels, as well as festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival and Reeperbahn Festival, SPOT ON DENMARK is heading to Vienna for the first time. The 3 bands were chosen by a jury consisting of TBA, INK MUSIC and Yeah Club from the SPOT festivals “120-band strong line-up”.

GINGER NINJA is like the elegance of Laudrup turned into an explosive pop band. The Copenhagen four piece let ideas and instruments run free and gladly cross musical dogmas and boundries on the way. Essential to the band’s sound is the mix of electronic and acoustic drumpatterns, jangling guitars and swelling synths that create dreamy yet highly energetic soundscapes. The bands’ greatest strength however, is their sense of melody which results in some outrageously catchy songs, that are sure to have your head nodding, feet tapping and heart thumping by the end of the night (www.myspace.com/gingerninjamyspace).

WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE create Razor sharp electro pop fuelled on ice crystal hooks. These 4 Copenhagen lads use their synths, keyboards, drumkit and voices to great effect! When the saints send out their first demo to dj’s and blogs in the summer of 2007 the positive reactions started pouring in immediately, which quickly gave them a name in the international indie and electro circuits - from Denmark to Australia. Their full length debut was released in the summer of 2009, and the band now seems ready to take on Europe on a wave of positive reviews (www.myspace.com/whensaintsgomachine).

KISS KISS KISS is an incredibly danceable Scandinavian electro rock cocktail. The band was in 2008 signed by the EMI Sweden A & R behind artists like Lykke Li and Håkan Hellström, based on a magic performance at the Roskilde Festival. KISS KISS KISS are 4 young lads with a pure energy and a passion for their music. Their unique sound is rooted in rock as well as the club scene. It’s like a Nordic blend of Talking Heads and XTC.
